Training on PDFs and Files

Upload PDF documents and text files to give your chatbot a rich knowledge base.

Training on PDFs and Files

PageGPT supports uploading PDF and TXT files up to 100 MB each. This is ideal for product manuals, help docs, whitepapers, and FAQs.

Supported Formats

FormatMax SizeNotes
PDF100 MBText is extracted automatically
TXT100 MBPlain text, UTF-8 encoding

How to Upload

  • Open your chatbot and click the Files tab.
  • Drag and drop your file onto the upload area, or click to browse.
  • PageGPT will upload the file to secure cloud storage and queue it for processing.
  • Once processing is complete, the file appears in your sources list with a green indicator.
  • Viewing Uploaded Files

Click the eye icon next to any uploaded file to open it directly from the CDN in a new tab.

    Tips for Best Results

    • Use text-searchable PDFs (not scanned images). Scanned PDFs may not extract correctly.
    • Break very large documents into smaller logical sections for more accurate retrieval.
    • After uploading, use the Retrain button to re-embed all sources if you made significant changes.

    Deleting Files

Select one or more files using the checkboxes and click Delete Selected. The files are removed from both storage and the chatbot's knowledge base.
